Fat Burners
This type of diet pill is possibly the most popular and widely sold universally. Fat burners, as the name suggests, burn body fat - but in most cases it is not the ingredients of the diet pill that has this effect, it is you. A large majority of fat burners just provide an increase to your metabolism. When your metabolism is raised your heart rate increases making mobility prefered to rest.
A common and staple ingredient of a fat burner is caffeine, most contain a high caffeine content and with this can bring about complications and side effects ranging from restlessness (the jitters) to more serious heart related issues.
On the whole fat burners should be avoided. If you cannot resist the temptation and the above appeals - dont buy a fat burning diet pill, drink several large cups of coffee every day. |
Appetite Suppressants
This genre generally effects the brain. There is a part of your brain called the hypothalamus that controls your food cravings. It is common knowledge that one of the major reasons for weight gain is over over indulgence, control your excess and weight loss will naturally follow.
The theory behind appetite suppressants is sound, but many individuals can over ride their hypothalamus - the power of the pie is greater than the power of the mind! It would seem.
Appetite suppressants do have a pretty big negative attached to them - as there is neural interference taking place there is a possibility of many phsychological related side effects. Recently a well known prescription weight loss drug was removed from shelves amid fears it could lead to manic depression and even suicide. |
Fat Stoppers
One of the most expensive diet pills to produce but consequently the most effective. Fat binders (also closely associated with fat blockers) stop the digestion of a percentage of fat that you consume. Some of the most potent fat binders can stop around 25% (a quarter) of the food that you eat from being converted into body fat.
If you were to be prescribed a diet pill from your doctor a fat binder or blocker would be ten times more likley than an appetite suppressant. Incentally, GP's do not prescribe fat burners.
Fat binders are not cheap, but it is important to remember you usually get what you pay for.
Fat binders are clinically proven to work! |
